Saint Vincent de Paul
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a Catholic lay organization devoted
to serving those in need. We have assisted travelers, homeless individuals and families, those temporarily out of work; those in need of food, clothing, dental or medical treatment and medications, transportation, funeral expenses; or needing help with utility bills, rent, or mortgage payments. Our funds are derived from members, generous parishioners, compassionate local organizational groups, and fundraisers.Assistance, whether material, educational, emotional or spiritual, is offered to each needy individual with a spirit of compassion, respect and dignity. Rather than solely addressing specific circumstances, Society members seek to work with the people they serve and create solutions that consider all aspects of a person’s life.No act of charity is foreign to the Society. An international organization formed in 1833 with members in over 130 countries, the Society came to United States in 1845 and has been serving those in need in Georgia since 1903. Our membership is drawn from among the parishioners at St. George and St. Mary Magdalene; however membership is open to all who would like to serve the needy in our local community.Don't have the time to volunteer? You can still help our ministry by donating clothing, small household appliances, toys, games, baby supplies, furniture, beds, electronics, and tools at the Clothes Less Traveled thrift shop, 459 Hwy 74 South in Peachtree City. They support our clients with needed items and support our ministry with grant money.
