About Us

St. George Catholic Church is nestled in Newnan, GA, "The City of Homes". Newnan is a thriving suburb of Atlanta, about 30 minutes south of Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. We are located less than ten minutes from I-75, providing easy access for those who drive to our parish on a weekly basis. 

 

Our parish has an amazing history. The first mass was said in 1938 in the home of Ellis Mansour, with only 48 people in attendance. Today, the parish has over 1,200 families and continues to grow. In 2019, we celebrated the 50-Year Anniversary of celebrating Mass at our current location, located at 771 Roscoe Rd.
