Forming the Faithful
Lifelong Faith Formation
"Catechesis is the act of handing on the Word of God intended to inform the faith community and candidates for initiation into the Church about the teachings of Christ, transmitted by the Apostles to the Church. Catechesis also involves the lifelong effort of forming people into witnesses to Christ and opening their hearts to the spiritual transformation given by the Holy Spirit." - USCCB
While Faith Formation is required for all K-12 students, it does not end at Confirmation, nor at the completion of High School. In order to have a well-formed faith, the faithful must continue to learn throughout their lives. Please take advantage of all of the Faith Formation opportunities available to you at St. George.
If you are interested in becoming Catholic, would like to deepen your understanding of the Catholic Faith, and/or are in need of completing your Sacraments of Initiation, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program is for you. RCIA meets weekly on Sundays. If you know someone who has expressed an interest in the Church, invite them to attend with you. Please contact Deacon Ed Buckley (RCIA Coordinator) or Martha Vahanian (Director of Faith Formation) for more information.

Protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults
The Archdiocese of Atlanta provides VIRTUS training for all adults so that we, as a parish community, can ensure that all members of our parish community are safe from harm. Any and all members of parish ministries that come in contact with minors and vulnerable adults should attend a VIRTUS training so that, together, we can continue to keep everyone safe. Please click the logo to the left to be taken directly to the VIRTUS website.
In addition to VIRTUS training, all ministry members should have a background check on file. Please contact the Parish Office to run your background check and/or check your VIRTUS status.

All proceeds go to support the Haiti Ministry's continued efforts to help the people of Haiti, and they thank you for your continued patronage.

Archbishop's Annual Appeal
“We must speak to them with our hands, before we try to speak with our lips.” These simple and profound words of St. Peter Claver call us to action. Much like the theme for the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal (AAA), “Go, Therefore, and Make Disciples”, they remind us to act upon the love of the Lord and openly share those actions of love with others. As we look to this year’s appeal, please reflect on that call of love and participate again, or for the first time, in this year’s Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.
"The Church and the world have great need of Eucharistic adoration. Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and contemplation full of faith.... May our adoration never cease." - Pope John Paul II
The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the chapel, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am until 9:00pm. Come let us adore Him!
